The final chapter of the book explores new resonant dramaturgies, highlighting various means by which techniques and methods of radio production can be utilised to create drama that listens in a resonant manner. The chapter explores a number of pieces that use musicality and ambiguity to create resonance and affect the radio listener bodily; in each case, it can be demonstrated that a change in the practical approach to writing, production and distribution is what enables these effects. The current cultural, technological and economic context is particularly welcoming to such a change: ease of distribution, unprecedented control over the sonic structure of radio drama due to digital audio production, a shift towards individual auditory spaces with increasing use of headphones, all set the stage for the dominance of resonant dramaturgy
