, he filmed the Derby, and, on 22 June 1895, he filmed the opening of Germany’s Kiel Canal. On 10 January 1896, he gave a film show to the Lyonsdown Photographic Club, and, on 14 January, he demonstrated motion pictures, filmed with his camera, to the Royal Photographic Society. On 27 June 1896, he was first to film a member of the royal family, the Prince of Wales (later Edward VII) at Cardiff, and on 21 July 1896, he was the first to screen a film of a member of the royal family to that august body, assembled at Marlborough House.
